TEL AVIV METROPOLIS AND THE NEAR SOUTH

TEL AVIV METROPOLIS AND THE NEAR SOUTH

The busy Tel Aviv metropolis in the coastal plain is the center of commercial and cultural life in the country.
The peaceful Shephelah region is less than an hour away.

Recommended stay in Tel Aviv metropolis: 2 nights or more.

Tel Aviv - the city that never stops

Tel Aviv is a cosmopolitan city, where everybody can feel at home, with plenty of beaches, restaurants, night clubs, theaters and museums. Although it is growing upwards at a rapid rate, it preserves historical neighborhoods - such as the Carmel Market, Neve' Tzedek, and Old Jaffa - next to modern skyscrapers.

The Shephelah (the "Low Land")

A hilly region between the Judean Mountains and the coastal plain – the "Israeli Tuscany", a peaceful region of vineyards and wineries, was the scene of the battle between young David and the giant Goliath in the Valley of Elah. This region is also a solemn archaeological witness to the tragic Bar Kokhba revolt.

Beit Guvrin National Park is a vast archeological site, with mazes of artificial caves and a Roman amphitheater.

The nearby Stalactite (Avshalom) Cave is a marvelous site well worth visiting.
